World class music...Fresh from Florida

The Florida Fresh Music Fest at the Orange Blossom Revue is a one of a kind music event featuring an entire line up of Original indie, Americana, and Soul music from across the state of Florida.

When The Lee Boys bring their joyous spiritual sound to the stage, audiences instantly recognize that this is not “sitting and listening” music: dancing, shouting out, and having fun are considered essential parts of their tradition. Founder and bandleader Alvin Lee explains “The inspiration and feeling that comes along with our music is the reason that people feel good.  In 2008-09 alone they performed for more than 250,000 music fans at festivals throughout the United States. In the process, their unique sound has attracted musical artists such as Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band, The Black Crowes, Los Lobos, Michelle Shocked, Gov’t Mule, Derek Trucks Band w/ Susan Tedeschi, The North Mississippi Allstars, Hill Country Revue, Umphrey’s McGee, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Oteil & Kofi Burbridge, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Toubab Krewe, Victor Wooten, The Del McCoury Band and The Travelin’ McCourys- all of whom have played with the Lee Boys and/or invited them to tour with them.

Raised in North Florida, where gospel and soul music lay as thick as the hot, humid air, Kevin Maines brings a youthful vibrancy to the classic southern R&B/Soul legacy. Kevin’s debut album, American Hustle, received praise for it’s creative writing, playing and production, as well as the strong musical maturity rarely seen in debuts. From Duane Allman-esque gritty slide guitar rockers to sweet gospel-inspired falsetto singing, Kevin Maines doesn’t just play in the southern soul traditions, he consumes and then gives them back bursting with his own unique twist. From gritty to ethereal, this music speaks for itself.

The Savants of Soul are a 9-piece Motown/soul band from Gainesville, FL. Since 2011, the group has dazzled audiences of all ages with its big, brassy sound and unmatched live energy. The sound the band creates is equal parts Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, The Supremes and The Temptations, fed through the lens of the band's varied rock, jazz, gospel and punk backgrounds.

The band released the Sunday Best EP in 2015 following the release of 2014's full-length LP Downtown Sound. It has traveled to perform at the Red Gorilla Festival at South By Southwest in 2017. It has shared the stage with acts like Charles Bradley, The Original Wailers, Thomas Wynn & The Believers, and Selwyn Birchwood.

Inspired by vintage vibes of Otis Redding and Sam Cooke with a voice that fits right in with modern sounds of Alabama Shakes and Aloe Blacc, Florida’s David Oliver Willis is a talent that's ready to light the music world on fire. The 25 year old singer is a native of Mt Dora, a rural town of 12,000 and definitely not the first place you’d expect to find a wellspring of music talent. Fortunately for us, David Oliver Willis is all about defying expectations.

In 2015, David released his debut EP “Milk and Honey”. The four tracks showcase his tremendous vocal chops and ability to effortlessly deliver the emotional impact of any subject from heartache to redemption.

Backed by a tight band of friends and family, David’s live performances are quickly achieving legendary status. Effortlessly nailing sounds of breezy Americana to fire-and-brimstone rock’n roll, this band never fails to bring the crowd to their feet, shouting for more.

The Hummingbirds are husband-wife team S.G. and Rachel Wood. Born and raised in Detroit, now residing in Tampa, their music is both northern and southern Americana, blending both grit, and self reliance with hospitality, and charm. They play old guitars through old amps, bang drums, and even pluck banjos sometimes. Their live stage chemistry and organic duo harmonies immediately captivate and charm audience members while Rachel’s solid command of rhythm guitar, peppered with S.G.’s thoughtful lead work, keep their songs rolling in true Americana form. S.G. and Rachel were fans of classic country music, as well as myriad of other genres when they started their band in the early 2000’s. And while they continue to draw on these influences, what comes out in their own songwriting is a hybrid sound all their own, genuine & playful, earnest & soulful. Their songs twist through tales of loss & heartache, while others whisper sounds of hope, love, and journeys from the road.

Beemo is an acoustic Americana band with mountain music roots from Orlando, Fl. Their sound is a blend of indie-rock, Irish folk, bluegrass, and elements of the singer/songwriter gene, drawing inspiration from REM, Johnny Cash, Nickel Creek and Ray LaMontagne.

Bear and Lion are best friends with a shared dream. They want to create the greatest club in the woods where all the animals can get along and not eat each other or be attacked by evil tourists. But this wasn’t always their dream.

Bear and Lion were captured as teenagers, put in a cage, given guitars, and forced to perform in the circus under the big tent. When Bear and Lion played, the crowds jumped to their feet and sang along with every song. But at night, instead of living wild and free, they were stuck in a cage. The bearded lady, no stranger to missing out on her just deserts, would bring Bear and Lion pancakes after the show. Then one day she slipped them a key, and they set off on their own journey to live wild and free.

As Bear and Lion continue to chase new adventures, they write about them in their songs, and they want you to sing along. Be on the look out for a bear and a lion with guitars on their backs, showing up in your town, teaching you how to get down.
